My Favorite Mascaras
Drugstore or high-end, I’ve probably tried it! Mascaras are like lipstick for me…I just can’t stop trying different ones. However, there is one mascara that always wins my heart…and it’s drugstore.
For starters, let’s talk about my lashes. Mine are decently long and nor thin or thick. Basically I like anything lengthening and thickening, which isn’t always easy to find.
Best Thickening Mascara
This mascara is hardcore thickening! If you have thin lashes, you probably only need one coat as it could weigh them down. However, I typically use this as a second coat for an added wow factor. If I’m going out with friends, I’ll wear two coats of this. Hello lashes!
Best Lengthening Mascara
This is a perfect mascara for the work day and it can be layered into luxurious lashes. If you like your lashes to look long, with added depth, but still soft to the touch, this is your mascara. Plus, the tube lasts forever it seems!
Best Bold Effect Mascara
I remember using this years ago and totally forgot about it. If you are looking for a one-coat wonder, then look no further. This mascara has a unique brush (comb-like) that grasps all your lashes into a sky-high effect. Don’t expect to let your lashes dry and add a second coat though…this hardens and keeps your lashes in place. One coat will definitely do the trick though!
Best Thickening and Lengthening Mascara
I have used this for YEARS. I actually got started on it because it was what my mom always used. This. mascara. is. AMAZING. What I like about this mascara is that it somehow extends the lash yet thickens it at the same time. Plus, this mascara is wet, but not too wet, so you can still add layers if need be. Did I mention it’s under $7?
Britt Tip: For long lashes, curl your lashes before applying mascara. Apply mascara and follow with a second coat. Wait 5 minutes before curling. Curl your lashes, holding for a few seconds for best results.
EYE CREAMS 9.12.16
Did you know the tissue around your under eye produces very little oil? A.K.A. eye cream should be your best friend! Lucky for me thanks to genetics, I not only have dark circles, but that hollow deep set under eye. You win some, you lose some! Needless to say I’ve tried a lot of creams, but a few stick out that I continue to re-purchase.
If you remember anything, remember to just put something on your under eye are before you go to bed. If you can put some on in the morning under makeup–even better.
My favorite eye creams:
- Clinique’s All About Eyes Rich
- GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
- Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum
If you want something great for the daily, I would go with Clinique’s All About Eyes Rich. It’s thick and my under eye looks supple after using. Perfect for right under makeup! Couldn’t sleep or maybe you just woke up with puffy eyes? Look no further than Origin’s Refreshing Eye Cream. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a must! It immediately brightens the under eye and I look more refreshed. Last but not least, my favorite line hands down for repairing at night is Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair products. There eye serum somehow brightens and makes my under eye look supple, all while reducing my dark circles.
If you haven’t gotten in to a skincare routine, why wait!?
