Spring 2014: Britt’s LookBook

So there are 50 days until Spring…but who’s counting?

As much as my go to look consists of a black wardrobe, I’m ready to switch it up as we get ready for Spring. Color, color, and more color is what we will expect to see. As I get ready for my cruise in March, I have been sprucing up my closet as well. We’ll blame it on the vacation 😉

Britt Tip: When going through the slideshows, you can click pause any time to stay on a specific look. Also, don’t forget to click the highlighted blue items as I have attached links so you can shop right away 🙂

1st Stop: Cobalt Blue:

There’s nothing better than versatility; and cobalt my friends, is versatile. Not only does it pair well with other colors, but it pairs well with all skin tones. Our first look is a beautifully cut dress. Great for work, a wedding, or even a hot date. Add a colorful bag or a statement necklace to top it off. Next we scroll into the cobalt pant. I am absolutely loving the polka dot print top as shown in the slideshow. It’s a perfect combination, without being too much. Last but not least, it wouldn’t right without adding some bikini flair. I’m still into the fringe; it’s fashionable and fun. What more can you ask for?

Britt Tip: Coral lips would really pair well with the cobalt blue. Try MAC’s Vegas Volt

Color Trend #2: Yellow….(a.k.a Freesia in the fashion world of Pantone)

Yellow is surprisingly another color people surpass. However, this spring it will be hard to do so. Perhaps you don’t want a full ensemble of it…no problem, stick with jewelry, shoes, or a scarf. It will still stand out and give you a perk. Let’s look at some of my favorite ways to wear this color. My go to look would be with the black jeans and flats with a touch of leopard. Great every day look!

Britt Tip: For makeup, stick to bronzed shadows and a hot pink lip. Check out Lorac’s Little Black Palette $34 for the perfect eye color shades. My current favorite lip color is by Maybelline’s Vivid’s collection in Vivid Rose.

3 Times a Charm: Mint Green

Mint Green just happens to be my all time favorite color. It’s simply beautiful. Pairing it with black is my favorite, because it effortlessly adds a touch of elegance! As for the first dress, I’m really into the cutout-Especially because it’s not overdone! This second look is perfect for a cocktail event. Put your hair up in a ballerina bun, or leave it down in romantic waves to finish your look. Last but not least, you can never have enough clutches. As listed below, you’ll see I love shopping at Lulu’s quite a bit. Can you blame me? They always have a great selection!

Britt Tip: For makeup, I would recommend a berry lip color. Check out Rebel by MAC! If you aren’t a lipstick kind of girl, I would play up your eyes instead. Stick to grey tones or a smokey eye.

At the end of the day, I just hope to inspire you to create your own look with the trends I showcase. I write my blog with the hopes of giving your inner self a sense of excitement about fashion and makeup, which is something I have always loved and will continue to love sharing with you all!

Tonight I will end with a slideshow of some of my new favorite pins on Pinterest. Enjoy! -Britt
