Nick and I went to Memphis, Tennessee this weekend for a family reunion. It was so much fun and it was great to be able to spend time with family we don’t get to see often enough! I also got to see my precious nephew who is 9 months and is beyond adorable. Anyways! In light of our trip, I wanted to do a post of some of my favorite travel necessities. I always find myself packing the same items, and definitely have a few that I could not go without!
The struggle is real when it’s a 7 hour trip! All I can think about is being comfortable for that long of a car ride. For summer, you’ll usually find me wearing workout pants, an over sized tee, and flip flops. One of my favorite traveling tricks (although not glamorous) is to throw a pair of socks in my purse. My feet get so cold after a long time in the car! It beats having to reach into the back and sort through all your luggage for it. For winter, you’ll find me trading the flip flops for my favorite nike’s. Below is a list of some of my favorites! Hit the arrow for more items! P.S. how cute is that Namast’ay in bed shirt!?
Beauty to Go
Every time I pack for a trip, I grab four “product” bags to fill. Sure, I could pile everything into one larger bag, but I would spend more time trying to find the products than actually using them. This area of packing has become so routine, I can pack it all up in 5 minutes or less. It goes something like this:
1. Big Makeup Bag: (foundation, powder, blush, concealer, and makeup brushes)
2. Small Makeup Bag: (mascara, eyeliner, eye makeup brushes, eye serum, and eye shadows)
3. Necessity Bag: (Deodorant, contacts, solution, toothbrush, tooth paste, moisturizer, under eye cream, primer, & makeup wipes)
4. Shower Bag: (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaver, and lotion)…all travel size
Sorting items out like this is so helpful for me! I put these bags as well as my curling iron and hair spray into my favorite bag (listed below). This way all my “getting ready” items are all in one spot! Listed below are some of my beauty favorite products. I also included some hair care items as well.
I always struggle with knowing what to pack for a trip. I find if I want to bring less, I usually kick myself during the trip for not bringing more. If you are really in a squeeze, try to make outfits versatile. You can do this by bringing a kimono or utilizing accessories to change up your look. Make sure to visit my post about versatility in case you missed it.
For this trip, I knew it was going to be hot and humid…90 degrees and 90% humidity to be exact. For the summer, I am a huge fan of sundresses. Whether it’s a maxi or a short flowy dress, I find they are so much more comfortable than shorts! Plus it’s so easy to slip on or amp up with a gorgeous statement necklace or bold lip! I packed a few bikinis and I was set. Pretty simple packing trip for a special long weekend.
P.S. does anyone have any recommendation for where to get future swimwear? I heard Victoria Secret will no longer be selling swimwear!? Leave me a comment on Instagram (@brittbehindthescenes) to let me know of any other places! Feel free to list any other favorite travel products or outfits.
There you have it! My travel necessities in a nutshell. Thanks for tuning in!
Until next time,
